Author Alchemy Laboratories are 1-day intensive workshops designed to teach authors a single valuable skill (or skill set) to help further their career.
On Saturday, May 31st, T. Thorn Coyle will teach you how to use Kickstarter to sell books directly to readers.
ONLY 12 SEATS AVAILABLE!
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn best practices for running a successful Kickstarter (no matter your genre). And we'll put our learning into practice by building out your Kickstarter project in real time.
Come with your idea, leave with a fully fleshed-out draft of your Kickstarter's story, graphics, video script, marketing plan, and more.
What You'll Learn (+ Create)
This will be a small, intimate group—which means you'll get one-on-one time with the instructor. Come with your laptop, notebook, and Kickstarter idea, and show up ready to learn!
You'll learn:
- Basic best practices
- Pricing strategies
- How to project costs + turn a profit
- Successful marketing strategies
- Co-marketing with other authors
You'll draft:
- Project story
- Reward tiers
- Reward graphics
- Video script
- Marketing plan

Optional Add-On: Done-For-You Video
Ah, the dreaded Kickstarter video! Kickstarters with videos perform better than those without, but most of us are authors, not videographers—or actors!
We'll create a draft of your video script during the workshop itself. But if you'd like to get it off your plate entirely, Robert Kittilson will be on hand to film and edit your Kickstarter video.
You'll still have to get in front of the camera, but don't worry—Robert is a pro at getting introverted authors to relax and act natural. :)
With this add-on, you'll record the video during the workshop, and Robert will edit the footage into a final product afterward.
